Description
All of our preserves are made with fruit, vegetables, flowers and herbs from our gardens, and prepared by our students with the support of our school staff.
Sweet
Strawberry Jam – Lovely traditional strawberry jam, great for classic Victoria Sponge filling, on toast and in jam tarts
Plum & Ginger Jam – Mellow and warming, brilliant for sweet scones with clotted cream, or savoury with mature cheese & crackers
Elderflower & Orange Marmalade – Fragrant and zingy fine-cut marmalade, perfect on warm buttery toast
Savoury
Harvest Chutney – Tangy, spiced tomato-based chutney, delicious with a strong cheddar on crackers, or great as relish for barbeque burgers
Cucumber Pickle – Fab addition to perk up cheese toasties, ploughmans and ham sandwiches, or lovely with fish – try it with mackerel pate, smoked salmon or tuna melts
All herb jellies are 200g, in glass jam jars.
Ingredients
Strawberry Jam: Strawberries, lemon juice, sugar, pectin.
Plum & Ginger Jam: Plums, sugar, lime juice, crystalised ginger, ground ginger.
Elderflower & Orange Marmalade: Orange, lemon, sugar, elderflower cordial, elderflower.
Harvest Chutney: Tomato, apple, onion, sultanas, brown sugar, cider vinegar, chilli, slat, ginger, clove, pepper, coriander seed.
Cucumber Pickle: Cucumber, onion, salt, white wine vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, clove, tumeric.
